Spectro FerroCheck 2000 Series – Portable Ferrous Analyzer
The Spectro FerroCheck 2000 Series provides fast, accurate, and portable ferrous measurement for in-service lubricating oil and grease. Samples are analyzed in less than 30 seconds, requiring only 1.5 ml of oil or 0.75 ml of grease. The FerroCheck detects both normal wear particles and large abnormal wear particles, delivering results in parts per million (ppm) by weight.
Principle of Operation
At the core of FerroCheck are precision rounded coils that generate magnetic fields. When a sample is inserted:
- Ferrous particles (Iron, Nickel, Cobalt) interact with the field, changing the current in the coils.
- The change is proportional to the amount of ferrous material present.
- Coils are auto-balanced before measurement → eliminating ambient temperature influence.
- Ensures stable, repeatable, operator-independent results.
